1. Store no longer than 48 hours in the fridge

2. Some references say that it takes 15-21 tries for a baby to determine if they “like” or “dislike” the food they are tasting

3. Do not store food that has been contaminated by baby’s saliva – discard this food to avoid growth of bacteria.  Transfer food from container to feeding bowl and discard any unfinished portions.

4. Store food in fridge or freezer within 2-3 hours.  Wait until food has cooled down before transferring to fridge or freezer

1. Transfer puree into ice cube tray for freezing

2. Fill each cube with puree

3. There are special freezer trays available for babyfood from oxo, kidco and other brands

4. Each cube is about one ounce

5. You may transfer the frozen cubes to a freezer bag and label it with the date it was made on

6. Use the cubes within one month of freezing

1. Steam vegetable or fruit (not all of them need to be steamed, for example – avocado)

2. Place vegetable or fruit into blender, food processor, hand blender or magic bullet

3. Set aside water used to boil fruit or vegetable (this liquid preserves the nutrients that may have leached into water during steaming)

4. Set your machine to puree or blend

4. As you are pureeing, use the water set aside to puree vegetable or fruit to desired consistency

Organic Baby Pear Puree

Ingredients

  • 1 Pear
  • Filtered water

Direction

  • Peel pear and cut into cubes
  • Steam pear with filtered water
  • Once pear is tender, puree in blender or food processor with filtered water used to steam pears

Organic Baby Golden Sweet Potato

Ingredients

  • Organic golden sweet potato
  • Filtered water

Directions

  • Peel and dice sweet potato
  • Steam until tender
  • Puree in blender or food processor with filtered water until desired consistency is reached

Organic Baby Butternut Squash

Ingredients

  • Butternut squash peeled and cubed, with inside seeds removed
  • Filtered water

Directions

  • Steam butternut squash in filtered water until tender enough to puree
  • Put squash into a blender or food processor
  • Add water and blend until desired consistency is reached

Organic Baby Sweet Potato

Sweet Potatoes are great for babies! They contain an antioxidant called glutathione which enhances the immune system,nutrient metabolism and detoxifies the liver!

Ingredients

  • 1 sweet potato
  • filtered water for steaming

Directions

  • Peel and rinse sweet potato
  • Cut sweet potato into small 1 inch cubes
  • Steam sweet potato cubes with filtered water until tender
  • Place cubes in a food processor or blender and blend with the water that was used to steam the cubes of sweet potato until desired consistency is reached

Organic Baby Cereal

Ingredients

  • Organic millet (see picture above), round grain brown rice, OR  sweet rice
  • Filtered water

Directions

  • Boil desired grain above with filtered water until tender
  • Drain water
  • In a food processor, blend grain with breast milk or formula to desired consistency

Ingredients

  • Organic Gala Apple
  • Filtered Water

Directions

  • Wash and cut apple into small chunks
  • Peel skin
  • Steam apples until tender
  • Puree apple chunks in blender
  • Add water into blender until applesauce reaches desired consistency
